What is it in soda exactly that is harmful?:  what are the variables?

There are different components in soda that could be harmful:

  • Coloring

  • Sweetener

  • Carbonation

I have chosen different beverages to show which of these could be hurting stomach tissues.

  • Diet Coke v. Regular Coke for sweetener comparison

  • Sprite v. Fanta v. Coke for coloring differences.  Both have some coloring, but Coke is a different, darker color

  • Seltzer v. Water to see if carbonation is a problem

  • Flat Diet Coke v. Regular Diet Coke to see if carbonation makes a difference with dark colored sodas

  • Flat Sprite v. Sprite to see if carbonation makes a difference with light colored sodas

I will be comparing the percent change in the tripe weight and not the actual change in tripe weight since the different tripe pieces were not identical to start.

​

I will also look at the tripe to see if there are any big changes to the look, but since this is based on my opinion, this information is not completely conclusive.
